C4 – Expiring Batches

This report details each sale of every product and service in your database.

Accessing The Expiring Batches Report

  1. Go to the RxWorks Task Panel.
  2. Select ‘Reports’ from the "toolbar".
  3. Select ‘C: Price Lists & Inventory Control’
  4. Click on ‘Expiring Batches’ under ‘4. Inventory Movement, Usage and Purchase Statistics’.

The window shown above will appear.

About the Report

Notice the report displays each item, its code, the current stock level, batch number and the date the product expires.

When To Run This Report

Run this report periodically to identify items in your inventory that are going to expire. You can then take action to use these batches before the expiry date and place reorders in advance

The Report Window

Date Range

This is the time period for which products with any expiration date during the range will be shown. You can select a common Date Range from the upper most drop-down box, such as ‘This Week’, ‘This Month’, ‘Last Account Period’, etc. When a Date Range is selected, the two dates below (start date & end date) will adjust accordingly. You can also set the start & end date fields manually. It is normally useful to set the date range for this report in the future so you can anticipate and plan for expiring products.

Viewing Options

Preview Button

This opens the report in a preview window, from which you can review it, then save and/or print it.

Print Button

This sends the report directly to the printer without previewing first.

Excel Button

This opens the report in Microsoft Excel as a spreadsheet.

Export Button

This allows you to export the data from the account run to a number of file formats. You can export to the following file type formats:

  • Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
  • Crystal Reports (RPT)
  • HTML 3.2
  • HTML 4.0
  • Microsoft Excel 97-2000 (XLS)
  • Microsoft Excel 97-2000 – Data only (XLS)
  • Microsoft Word (RTF)
  • Microsoft Word – Editable (RTF)
  • ODBC
  • Record Style – Columns with spaces (REC)
  • Record Style – Columns without spaces (REC)
  • Report Definition (TXT)
  • Rich Text Format (RTF)
  • Separated Values (CSV)
  • Tab Separated Text (TTX)
  • Text (TXT)
  • XML
  • PDF Button

    This opens the report in a PDF viewer. You will need to have PDF viewer software like Adobe Acrobat or Foxit Reader installed to be able to view the file.


    This opens a dialog in which you can change the page style of the report.


    This returns you to the Reports main menu without creating a report.
