The RxWorks Dicom Platform allows you to manage your Dicom images (Digital Image Communication in Medicine) on a single digital platform. Images are directly accessible from the patient record of your RxWorks Practice Management System (or via the Dicom Platform if you are not an existing RxWorks client). You can view images in full Dicom detail on any terminal within the RxWorks system and use one or more Diagnostic Workstations with enhanced Clinical Review monitors for more extensive diagnostic work. You can even access the Dicom images remotely via a laptop (via a good quality broadband connection). No longer will you have to deal with the image resolution problems of JPeg or other computer images or be restricted to viewing at one location.

 

It is non-vendor specific allowing you to store and view any Dicom image from any digital image device, whether it is Direct Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR), Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computer Tomography (CAT Scan), Scintigraphy, Endoscopy, etc. The RxWorks Dicom Platform  is vendor independent so you can choose the imaging device best suited to  your needs, whether it be new or used.This is a big plus when considering which  device to purchase or whether you can use equipment you may already have in your practice. The platform is well-tested, highly scalable and a complete solution for your Dicom images.

RxWorks Pacs Server

Pacs means ‘Picture Archiving and Communications System’. It is sometimes referred to as an Image Archive. One of the special features of our Pacs server is that it can operate in a fully distributed mode, which means if you have multiple locations, the images can be stored at each location, but there is one easy interface to find and view images no matter where they are stored. You do not need to look in a separate system for each location, saving you time and a lot of frustration. Importantly we incorporate all imaging devices defined in the Dicom standard. In configuring your Pacs server we need to have some idea of your current and future storage requirements which we will be happy to discuss with you.  Our Pacs server contains a number of backup rountines.  If you already have a Pacs server with your exisiting Dicom device you will not be able to use this as the RxWorks Pacs server. 

 

The Workstation software allows you to view, manipulate, annotate and measure diagnostic quality images, and save the image for future viewing. You can view a series of images in a variety of configurations. There is a full tool set of manipulation features include window levelling, image orientation and magnification up to full curved multi-planer reformatting of 3D data sets. This software can only be used in conjunction with the RxWorks Diagnostic Workstation (see below).

RxWorks Diagnostic Workstation

The RxWorks Diagnostic Workstation is a powerful PC and Clinical Review Monitor designed to meet the display requirements of a Pacs environment, with Dicom preset displays, high luminance and exceptional contrast ratios. Unlike other Dicom solutions, you can have as many of these as you need. The image can of course also be viewed on a standard monitor.

 

 

Allows you to view diagnostic quality images and reports using Internet Explorer from any PC on your network or remotely at home or from another location. It includes the most comprehensive tools available to facilitate complex manipulation of diagnostic quality images.  If you are a referral practice you can allow your referral vets secure access to view their patients’ image files.
