Shared ownership Minimize

In the equine industry, horses are often owned by several different clients that all need to be billed for their share of the veterinary work. And it is no good sending these bills to the address where the horse is located as the owners are normally not there.

The ownership button in the bottom right of the patient screen allows you to define who the owners of the horse are and their different ownership percentages. Rxworks will automatically create the bills for each owner according to their ownership share saving you hours of work. On a change of ownership, any outstanding liability of the old owners remains with those clients and any new charges are allocated to the new ownership from the date the change took place.

The location button on the patient screen allows you to specify the location of the patient with directions and how to get there for the ambulatory veterinarian.

Ambulatory Minimize

RxWorks contains a number of key features suitable for ambulatory practitioners that provide the support necessary to cope with the distinct working environment.  The RxWorks systems are particularly effective in overcoming many of the problems traditionally associated with being on site much of the time:

  • RxWorks Mobile Veterinarian allows you access to all client and patient information at the client’s site, the ability to record a new visit, create and print an invoice.  This will save the practice much time by improving efficiency and should reduce missed charges and improve cash-flow. The information can be synchronized back to the fileserver when you return home or back to the practice, via the internet or a direct connection.
  • Appointments on your RxWorks Mobile Veterinarian allow you to make sure you know where your next appointment is and where your colleagues are each day.  These appointments are entered and controlled from the practice.
  • Tools, such as Procedures to quickly record the same treatments repeated for multiple patients, both for medical notes and charges, save time and ensure you charge correctly.
  • Location of the patient as well as driving directions are included.
  • You can export patient information, without exporting prices to the client’s record-keeping system.
  • Species-specific screens, procedures (as discussed above), and fees all improve the information and work-flow
  • Accurate, efficient and timely billing is an essential part of any business.  The RxWorks client accounting facility is easy to use and very flexible.
  • Comprehensive client communication tools such as customized marketing pieces, other mailings and handouts, data mining, email, text messaging, a 'call back list' make communication with current and past clients easy and quick, but most of all effective.
  • Standards of Care add an extra dimension in helping you provide the highest quality of medicine you can, as well as ensuring you correctly bill for all the work you are actually performing.

Here is a Practice Management article that explores many of the issues that you may face as an ambulatory veterinarian and the solutions available within RxWorks.

This feature has been designed to support your Standards of Care. You can create comprehensive veterinarian and species-specific templates for all of your everyday treatments, services and surgical procedures – neuterings, health checks, farm visits, dentals, anaesthesia etc. Procedure templates store each chargeable item you have defined.

What Our Clients Say Minimize

RxWorks Mobile Veterinarian allows the busy large animal or equine veterinarian to access client / patient records, enter medical notes, produce invoices all from on-site or in the car.  Read how one busy equine veterinarian, Andrew Whitting, uses this invalubale feature in Victoria.

The temptation with all IT systems is to think that the technology will run itself. While this is true to an extent, to get the most out of RxWorks you need to understand it. Mark Lucey, one of five partners in a thriving ten-vet equine practice in the West of England, and Robert Magnus of Wisconsin Equine Clinic, Wisconsin, US, are both big believers in the adage that you get out of a system what you put into it. In these articles they examine their individual approaches to the purchase of a new practice management system.
