Text Messaging is also know as SMS – short for Short Messaging Service
RxWorks allows you to send text messages from within the program to any mobile/cell telephone. These short messages or reminders have the potential to enhance the quality of care you provide, with very little effort.
Note: You need to set up an account with third party text message provider MessageNet to make use the SMS function from within RxWorks.
You might use text messaging for appointment reminders, overdue payments, ready prescriptions, and so on.
Uses include:
■ Ad-hoc messages can be used for example to provide updates on a patient’s status in the hospital or to advise a prescription or special order is ready for collection.
■ Automatic messages based on appointments can not only remind the client of the appointment but could also remind them to bring samples or to withhold food.
■ Automatic messages based on reminders can not only advise when say a new pack of flea treatment is needed but can actually remind the client to apply a treatment each month.
The full list is endless and you can send a text message with just a few clicks.
