Tests performed on older Idexx VetTest machines can be transferred to RxWorks via a floppy disk and attached to a patient's visit record. This function does not provide any analysis of the results and the transfer must be done manually. Transferred Results are included on the patient record as an ATTACHMENT and can be opened using a text editor such as NOTEPAD.

This utility has been superseded by the RxWorks Laboratory Manager module which has more features and functionality and is recommended over this older utility. Due to development efforts focusing on the Laboratory Manger Interface and the phase out of floppy disk media from common computer and laboratory devices, this mode of results import may be removed from future releases of RxWorks.

RxWorks and IDEXX now provide an easier, quicker method of importing lab results. Although we currently continue to support this method, the technology has now been advanced, and may not be supported in future releases of the program.

The default configuration of the utility is set to import files from a floppy disk in your Server (terminal Server or Server PC). If you do not have a floppy drive on your server you will need to copy the files off the floppy disk from a machine that has a floppy drive. The files must then be saved to an import location on your network that can be accessed from your server.
