Work Areas
The program begins with three work areas open. Initially you can only see one work area, the Tasks Panel window
. However, if you could peel back these windows you would see the Tasks Panel is covering the Client File window
and the Clipboards window
.
The Work Area Tabs
On the left edge of the opening screen is the Navigation bar showing three Work Area tabs:

The tabs are numbered 1, 2 and 3 and you can switch to these areas using the mouse or shortcut keys, Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2 and Ctrl+3.
Tab 1 always connects to the Clipboards-Appointments area.
Tab 2 is the Tasks Panel and it displays the current user’s name.
Tab 3 is the Client File showing the name of the currently selected client.
Note: The "(no patient)" label on the Client File tab indicates a patient has not yet been selected for the client, not that the client has no patients.
Opening More Work Area Tabs
Sometimes you will need to open additional Work Areas. For example, this may be to perform a counter sale, or to look at 2 or more clients at the same time.
RxWorks supports 8 Work Areas to be open at any one time.
The 'New' button in the RxWorks Ribbon Toolbar opens new client Work Area. You can also use 'Ctrl + N' on your keyboard.
Opening a new Work Area will always default to the Client information, despite the tab you are working in. For example, if you are in the patient screen and wanted to open another patient file, simply click over to the Patient Tab once the new window is open.
What you do in one Client Work Area is independent of the others. RxWorks overlays the windows and extra tabs in the Work Area Navigator may be the only visual difference:

In the example above, there are 2 extra tabs for Work Areas, one for a Counter Sale and one for an extra client.
The new Work Area tabs are numbered 4 and 5. You can select them with the mouse or by using Ctrl+4 and Ctrl+5.
Work can be in progress in several windows simultaneously and you can switch between them any time you like.
You can set the Counter Sales window to close automatically when you finish a sale. This is set up on a per user basis by selecting 'Keep Window Open' done through User Options and Setup.
You can close other additional windows manually using their Close button or by right-clicking on their Tab.
