100% Fill Factor Means Less Exposure
There are two main digital radiography technologies. The first is Charge Coupled Device (CCD) based detectors. The second is Flat Panel (either direct or indirect capture) detectors
DuoView™ uses a very high density CCD, a lens and a scintillator. This gives DuoView™ a 100% fill factor. That means 100% of the pixel area is used. Flat Panel systems have lower fill factors because electronics are running through each pixel. The result is a reduced surface area for x-ray capture. The higher the fill factor, the higher the resolution of the image and the lower the dose needed.
